Let’s Pamper Ourselves This Galentine’s Day

You know that I never need an excuse to give myself some extra self-care or a pamper. But if you do, what better excuse than Galentine’s Day?!

If you’ve never heard of Galentine’s Day, it’s a day to celebrate yourself, your friends and any other women in your life and show them some love. Galentine’s Day first started thanks to American sitcom Parks and Recreation (source).

There are so many ways you can celebrate Galentine’s, but obviously my go-to is to have a self-care pamper evening. Read on to hear some of my favourite products for a pamper day and some products I’d love to try!

1.     Face Masks
It’s no secret that I absolutely love a face mask! As mentioned in so many of my blog posts, my all-time favourite is The Body Shop’s Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask* . If I’m wanting a really thorough pamper, a mask like this is definitely my go-to. However, if I’m just wanting something quick, I also love a sheet mask. When looking at my sheet mask collection, they’re mostly from Garnier or Revolution, and you can purchase these in places like Boots, Superdrug and supermarkets.

2.     Bath Products
I’ve always been a bath bomb kinda gal and I’m not particularly fussy where they come from. I’ve tried Primark ones, The Body Shop one, small business ones, Lush ones and so many others. I just love a bath bomb!

But one product I haven’t tried, but have had my eye on for a while is the Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Honey Bath. It’s definitely a luxury product and not one I’ll be purchasing any time soon. But whenever I hear people talking about it, it just sounds like the absolute best pampering bath product.

3.     Pyjamas/Loungewear
I am such a Pyjamas & loungewear kinda gal! I generally try to make an effort for work and on the odd occasion that I go out, but besides that you’ll usually find me in some form of pyjamas or loungewear. I’ve been eyeing up these joggers* and this hoodie* from The Spark Company for a while and they may just have to accidentally fall into my basket soon! As much as I love loungewear, I don’t own many matching jogger/hoodie sets and that needs to change asap! I’m also obsessed with Future Self’s tracksuit collection, especially this forest green hoodie and jogger set (which colours might be a hint to a future project of mine…).

4.     Snacks
No pamper session is complete without something to eat and drink. For me an evening pamper session has to have hot chocolate and my all time favourite is Whittard (I even wrote a whole blog post on it which you can read about here). Lidl, Aldi & Asda are my go-to places for snacks as they always have such a variety. But if I’m really treating myself, I sometimes pop to M&S as I just cannot resist Colin The Caterpillar chocolate faces!

5.     Shows/Movies
For me, the ultimate cosy, pamper night-in show/movie has to be some sort of chick-flick (I need to write a whole post on my favourite chick-flicks). Watching something filled with nostalgia is the ultimate form of self-care for me! Think Mean Girls, Clueless, Wild Child and so many more!

If I’m having a pamper night with my other half, then we usually end up watching some sort of crime drama. I’ve shared a couple of posts about my favourite Netflix shows over the years, and you can read them here and here.

I’m always up for recommendations for new shows. So, please leave them in the comments below!

6.     Extras
I received a weighted blanket for Christmas and it’s genuinely changed my life. It instantly makes me feel relaxed & calm and is my favourite thing to cosy up with in the evening. I now wanted multiple weighted blankets in every room that I relax in, so have been eyeing up this one from Kudd.ly* .

What are you doing this Galentine’s Day? Are you having a self-care pamper? Or going out with the girls? Or something else? Let’s chat in the comments!
