9 Things That Make Me Feel Good At Christmas & New Year
Christmas is my favourite time of year! There are so many reasons why I love Christmas (which I’ll talk about in this post) but no matter how the festive season goes, it always makes me feel warm & fuzzy.
In terms of New Year, I still feel like this is part of the festive season and its often another reason to spend time with loved ones and all the other things that I love about Christmas.
So, let’s share some things that make me feel good at Christmas & New Year. Let me know if you agree with my list or if I’ve missed out some of your favourites.
1. All The Food
A roast dinner is one of my favourite meals ever! So, Christmas dinner is usually the most epic roast dinner – give me all the pigs in blankets, stuffing, cranberry sauce, roast potatoes – everything!
It's not just main meals. I love all of the snacks and treats that come out at Christmas too! Do you agree?
My family also often have a big dinner on New Year’s – which always makes me happy.
2. All The Lights & Decorations
There’s just something about Christmas lights and decorations that warm my heart. Whether you prefer something neutral, something colourful or a mix of everything – there’s just something about seeing them that makes me happy.
3. Spending Time With Loved Ones
Whether it’s those that you see everyday or those that you only see a handful of times a year – Christmas & New Year is often a reason for people to come together.
However, it’s not always an easy time for everyone at Christmas. If you’re needing some time to look after yourself, check out this blog post.
4. Giving To Others
Whether that’s giving gifts to loved ones or giving something to charity – giving to others brings my heart so much joy.
The moment when you give someone a thoughtful gift that really suits them and they really appreciate – which is a really lovely feeling! And obviously when you give to charity, you’re really giving to those in need – no matter your charity of choice.
5. Cosiness
If you’ve been here for any amount of time then you’ll probably know that being cosy is one of my favourite things! And obviously, Christmas is the epitome of cosiness. And that’s all I have to say on being cosy.
6. Christmas Films
There’s always something so magical about Christmas films. They’re usually filled with heart-warming stories, a bit of magic and all of the other things I love about Christmas. My boyfriend suggested building a fort and having a Christmas movie night soon – and I am so excited!! You may think that this sounds childish – but it’s super cosy and chill and I love taking time out of my day to it!
7. Fun Clothes
I talked about it in this Instagram post – but the clothes that I wear have a big impact on my mood and how I feel about myself. And I don’t know about you, but Christmas & New Year always makes me want to wear all of the tacky jumpers, all the sparkles, all the velvet and shearling and anything that’s a bit ‘out there’.
8. Fresh Start
This is a bit of a cliché, but New Year is a great time to give yourself a fresh start. Whether you’ve been having a bad time are looking for some change or you just want to breathe a breath of fresh air into your life or something completely different – do whatever makes you happy and what works for you!
9. Creating Content & Building A Community
I’ve had the loveliest time over the last year & a half creating content and building this fabulous community! I want to say a massive thank you for supporting me on this journey and I can’t wait to see where we go.
Self-acceptance, self-care and empowerment are very important to me and things that I’m working on getting better at and I hope that you joining me on my journey, helps you too!
If you have any specific topics that you’d like me to discuss that relates to self-acceptance, self-care or empowerment please let me know as I want my content to be what you want to read.
I could probably go on forever, but I won’t…
Have I forgotten one of your favourite things about Christmas or New Year? Let me know in the comments below!
Also, this is my last blog post of the year. I have decided to take December off blogging to plan for the year ahead. But I will still be over on Instagram – so come and say hello!
I wish you a Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year!! And if you don’t celebrate either of these, I hope you have a lovely December & January!

I annoy myself with the number of books on my bookshelf that I really want to read and haven’t yet – so I apologise if that annoys you too!
Getting a good book and a cuppa and cosying up on the corner of the sofa is one of my favourite self-care activities to do. But I just don’t give myself the time to do it – so hopefully this will help!
So, I thought that I would create a list of books currently sitting on my bookshelf (and some in my Amazon wish list) that I would really like to finally read this year – feel free to hold me accountable and check if I have been reading!
I have started this new year feeling quite reflective. I have been looking back at decisions I have made in my life and why I made them. We all make mistakes in life and maybe have a few regrets. But every decision I have made has led me to where I am right now (specifically sat at my desk writing this blog post) and I am happy about that.
As we go into 2022, I wanted to share some of my favourite content creators right now – that I think you should be following too!
I actually really struggled to keep this list to 22, so keep your eye out for another list during this year.
Obviously, I love every single blog post that I write. I wouldn’t share content that I wasn’t happy with/didn’t believe in. However, these 9 in particular continue to bring me joy in one way or another.
The clothes that I wear have a big impact on my mood and how I feel about myself. When I put on an outfit that makes me feel amazing, it instantly boosts my mood. It doesn’t need to be a particularly snazzy or sexy outfit – I can chuck on my favourite loungewear and feel great if that’s my mood for the day.
With Christmas just around the corner I knew that I wanted to do a big gift guide. However, there are so many amazing businesses out there that I struggled to narrow it down. So, I decided to make a directory of sorts and create one big list of some amazing small businesses!
If you’re following me on Instagram, then you’ll know that I spent my birthday week in Edinburgh. I had the most amazing time, it made my heart happy, and my mental health was the best it’s been for a long while (who knew taking proper time to relax was good for you…?).
So, I wanted to write a blog post about everything I got up to while in Edinburgh – from the food, to the places I visited, and everything in between. I love travelling, so definitely want to do more of it!
There are so many incredible sounding brands that it can sometimes feel overwhelming. I love shopping, but I also enjoy supporting people’s businesses – so I thought I would create a post about 10 brands that I’ve been lusting after recently. Some of these brands I have tried products from, but I want to try more!
How has it taken me this long to write another Netflix round-up? For a lass who is constantly watching something that’s poor effort – so I’m sorry! I love sitting and watching Netflix in the evening over food, so I definitely need to write more of these.
If you’ve been reading my blog/following me on Instagram for a while, you may know that I am a big fan of a movie night. I love being cosy and, for me, movie nights are one of the cosiest things.
When I’m needing self-care, I love getting wrapped up and losing myself in a good film or series.
Lockdown was a strange experience. But one positive that came out for me personally, was that I fell in love with baking again. I planned on baking a range of different things to try and keep me occupied; however, after baking these cookies, they’re all I baked…!
As some of you may know, I had a Disney World trip planned for last September. Obviously, that never went ahead. But I’d spent so much time adding products (mainly ears) to my wish list for this trip, that I have decided to create a big ol’ list for you lovely people!
There are a range of shops in this list, from those that make accessories, ear and even art. Lots of the shops do a variety of products, but I have categorised them by what they’re most known for/their products that I love the most.
It’s always been my dream to visit all of the Disney Parks around the world. Each park has its own amazing experiences, food and Disney goodness and I would just love to see it all (a girl can dream right?).
So, I thought I would write down my bucket list and put it out into the universe.
After writing about ‘My All-Time Favourite Disney Movies’, I obviously knew that I had to write about my favourite Pixar movies!
I will admit though that I feel like a fake fan…I didn’t realise how few Pixar movies there actually is! This list could just contain every single Pixar movie. However, I tried my hardest to cut it down. Plus, there are still a couple that I’m yet to watch…
I wouldn’t describe my style as fashionable – but I do enjoy using clothes as a way to express how I am feeling. And if I am feeling rubbish, I love putting on an outfit that makes me feel great & look great as it instantly helps to boost my mood.
So, I have been thinking about how I can add more fun and happiness into my everyday style. Adding pops of colour or pattern to an outfit is always something that I’ve enjoyed doing and I also love a graphic tee – so I decided to combine both and try to incorporate other things that I love and enjoy into my clothing. And this is where Disney comes in.
For my first blog post for ‘Disney Month’ I thought I’d go straight in with my all-time favourite Disney movies.
This list could literally just list every single Disney movie that I’ve ever watched – but I tried hard to narrow it down…a little bit…
I’m trying to get better at reading. I really enjoy it when I’m doing it, but I just never give myself the time – but I’m working on that.
This list could have also been so much longer! But I wanted to share these 6 with you first and try and be realistic with what I will be able to read. I’m also usually drawn to interesting, bright, and colourful front covers – which you will see from the list below.
Whether your favourite content creators are on YouTube, Instagram, create Podcasts, write a blog or anything else – your support is vital for them being able to continue creating the content that you love.
This list could have been so much longer, but I think 20 is a great number for now. These women are absolutely incredible for so many reasons and I definitely recommend that you follow them all. This blog post includes bloggers, YouTubers, Podcasters, Instagrammers and extra fabulous ladies!
If you’ve been reading my blog or following my Instagram for a while, you’ll know that I love watching movies and TV.
So, for my first post of Women’s History Month I’m celebrating those on screen. These are all ones that I’ve watched and loved and that’s why I’m recommending them. I’m also including a few that I haven’t watched but have heard great things about. If you have any suggestions, please leave them in the comments below.
For the last few years, I haven’t been making new year’s resolutions as I never stick to them and end up feeling rubbish about it. Instead, I have been trying to create little goals of things that I want to improve or incorporate into my life. Last year I gave myself the goal of reading 12 books (1 a month). This may not seem like much, but I just never give myself enough time to read – even though I love reading!
I’ve listened to podcasts on and off for a few years – but it wasn’t until the end of 2019 and all throughout 2020 that I properly started listening to them.
For the majority of lockdown, I only saw about 4 people; so, I felt like listening to people talk on podcasts made me feel less lonely. That’s probably a bit sad, but it’s true*laughing They’re easy to listen to when you’re commuting, doing housework and just about anything – especially if you don’t feel like listening to music.
I absolutely love Christmas – it just makes my heart happy. One thing that I love doing at this time of year is watching cosy films. The majority of the films mentioned are actual Christmas films – but I have mentioned a couple that aren’t necessarily Christmas related, but I just enjoy watching at this time of year. I could have mentioned so many more – but I didn’t want to bore you😂
This won’t be the most informational blog post, but I just thought that it would be a bit of fun to have a chat about some Christmas films.

If you’ve been anywhere on social media recently, you’ll likely have seen lots of posts promoting the idea of “shopping small” this Christmas. I definitely shop small when I can as I love quirky, individual and personalised pieces. Not On The High Street and Etsy are usually the first place that I search for any kind of gift – even for myself. They are filled with amazing small businesses and I want to share some of the small businesses that I have found with you lovely people.
Oh hello! I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting on both myself and my blog recently, and I’ve had some new followers, so wanted to re-introduce myself and what I’m planning for this blog.
As a blogger, I thought it was about time to support some of my fellow bloggers and write a post about some of my current favourites. Some of these blogs I’ve followed for ages, and others are recent. But they’re all absolutely amazing!!
So, enjoy reading and don’t forget to go over and give them all some love *heart

Babies…they need a lot of stuff!!
I’d done so much research before my little one was born as to what you did need and what you didn’t and what just made life with a baby that bit easier. Some things we love, some things we don’t and some things we discovered along the way as we learnt more about his personality and what he likes/dislikes.
