Why Do I Create Content?
I have started this new year feeling quite reflective. I have been looking back at decisions I have made in my life and why I made them. We all make mistakes in life and maybe have a few regrets. But every decision I have made has led me to where I am right now (specifically sat at my desk writing this blog post) and I am happy about that.
One big decision I made was to start this blog & social media journey solo. I previously had a joint one and the thought of doing it on my own was scary. But I have had such an amazing time since starting this blog and it has really pushed me out of my comfort zone - I wrote a little bit about this on one of my Instagram posts, which you can check out here.
I love planning content. I love creating content. I love learning how to plan and create better content. It brings me so much joy as a creative person to have this outlet to just be myself. If you’ve ever taken a course on content creation or followed any of the ‘Instagram gurus’, you’ll know that when creating content, it is super important to always consider your why. And over the last few weeks I’ve had a few different people ask me why I create content. So, I thought I’d write blog post dedicated to just that.
If you’d like to discover why I create content – keep on reading.
1. It Makes Me Feel Less Alone
Learning to accept your body at all it’s different stages, in all of its different angles isn’t easy; especially when you’ve grown up in a society that made you feel weird for not looking like its idea of ‘perfect’. However, talking about it with you shows me that I’m not the only one that feels like this.
I have made some amazing connections since starting this journey – including people I’d call genuine friends and I wouldn’t have been able to do this if I hadn’t pushed myself out of my comfort zone, to share these thoughts and feelings, to end up finding people like you!
2. I Enjoy Helping Other People
I am typically the friend that people come to for advice – and I’m more than okay with that (and apparently, I’m good at it)! So, why not share some of my advice online? My blog and socials are definitely a mixture of giving for advice and asking for advice – and I like that.
As always, if there’s a topic relating to self-acceptance, self-care or empowerment that you’d like me to discuss – please send me a DM!
3. Writing Is Cathartic
You’ve probably been told this since you were little – but writing out how you’re feeling is actually really helpful. “Putting your thoughts into words helps you to process these feelings and enables you to work out what’s important. The more you unload onto paper, the closer you’ll get to the feelings underlying those thoughts and the more you’ll be able to understand what you want in life and what’s holding you back from achieving it” (source).
I’ve recently started using digital journals/notebooks to keep a track of what’s going on in my mind, my plans for the year and my everyday to-do list and I’ve been loving it! I’m still a massive sucker for pretty stationery! But if you’ve been looking into digital journaling, I highly recommend it.
4. Encourage Others To Do The Same
A big part of what I do is to encourage you to share your story too. You’re important and your thoughts & feelings deserve to be listened to. I’m not saying that you need to create a whole blog or social media about it if you don’t want to (although if you do, let me know as I would love to check it out), but if I can encourage you to feel confident enough to speak out about your feelings – then that would be amazing!
These are the 4 main reasons that I create content. I think about these whenever I’m having a bad day with my content – writers block, feeling like no-one cares, not feeling good enough etc.
I also have a secret project going on, which will mean that I have to create more content AND it’s the industry that I’m looking at going into. So, it’s clear that I do love creating content, but sometimes I just need to remind myself.
Are you a content creator? I’d love to connect – pop me a DM on Instagram!

I annoy myself with the number of books on my bookshelf that I really want to read and haven’t yet – so I apologise if that annoys you too!
Getting a good book and a cuppa and cosying up on the corner of the sofa is one of my favourite self-care activities to do. But I just don’t give myself the time to do it – so hopefully this will help!
So, I thought that I would create a list of books currently sitting on my bookshelf (and some in my Amazon wish list) that I would really like to finally read this year – feel free to hold me accountable and check if I have been reading!
I have started this new year feeling quite reflective. I have been looking back at decisions I have made in my life and why I made them. We all make mistakes in life and maybe have a few regrets. But every decision I have made has led me to where I am right now (specifically sat at my desk writing this blog post) and I am happy about that.
As we go into 2022, I wanted to share some of my favourite content creators right now – that I think you should be following too!
I actually really struggled to keep this list to 22, so keep your eye out for another list during this year.
Obviously, I love every single blog post that I write. I wouldn’t share content that I wasn’t happy with/didn’t believe in. However, these 9 in particular continue to bring me joy in one way or another.
The clothes that I wear have a big impact on my mood and how I feel about myself. When I put on an outfit that makes me feel amazing, it instantly boosts my mood. It doesn’t need to be a particularly snazzy or sexy outfit – I can chuck on my favourite loungewear and feel great if that’s my mood for the day.
With Christmas just around the corner I knew that I wanted to do a big gift guide. However, there are so many amazing businesses out there that I struggled to narrow it down. So, I decided to make a directory of sorts and create one big list of some amazing small businesses!
If you’re following me on Instagram, then you’ll know that I spent my birthday week in Edinburgh. I had the most amazing time, it made my heart happy, and my mental health was the best it’s been for a long while (who knew taking proper time to relax was good for you…?).
So, I wanted to write a blog post about everything I got up to while in Edinburgh – from the food, to the places I visited, and everything in between. I love travelling, so definitely want to do more of it!
There are so many incredible sounding brands that it can sometimes feel overwhelming. I love shopping, but I also enjoy supporting people’s businesses – so I thought I would create a post about 10 brands that I’ve been lusting after recently. Some of these brands I have tried products from, but I want to try more!
How has it taken me this long to write another Netflix round-up? For a lass who is constantly watching something that’s poor effort – so I’m sorry! I love sitting and watching Netflix in the evening over food, so I definitely need to write more of these.
If you’ve been reading my blog/following me on Instagram for a while, you may know that I am a big fan of a movie night. I love being cosy and, for me, movie nights are one of the cosiest things.
When I’m needing self-care, I love getting wrapped up and losing myself in a good film or series.
Lockdown was a strange experience. But one positive that came out for me personally, was that I fell in love with baking again. I planned on baking a range of different things to try and keep me occupied; however, after baking these cookies, they’re all I baked…!
As some of you may know, I had a Disney World trip planned for last September. Obviously, that never went ahead. But I’d spent so much time adding products (mainly ears) to my wish list for this trip, that I have decided to create a big ol’ list for you lovely people!
There are a range of shops in this list, from those that make accessories, ear and even art. Lots of the shops do a variety of products, but I have categorised them by what they’re most known for/their products that I love the most.
It’s always been my dream to visit all of the Disney Parks around the world. Each park has its own amazing experiences, food and Disney goodness and I would just love to see it all (a girl can dream right?).
So, I thought I would write down my bucket list and put it out into the universe.
After writing about ‘My All-Time Favourite Disney Movies’, I obviously knew that I had to write about my favourite Pixar movies!
I will admit though that I feel like a fake fan…I didn’t realise how few Pixar movies there actually is! This list could just contain every single Pixar movie. However, I tried my hardest to cut it down. Plus, there are still a couple that I’m yet to watch…
I wouldn’t describe my style as fashionable – but I do enjoy using clothes as a way to express how I am feeling. And if I am feeling rubbish, I love putting on an outfit that makes me feel great & look great as it instantly helps to boost my mood.
So, I have been thinking about how I can add more fun and happiness into my everyday style. Adding pops of colour or pattern to an outfit is always something that I’ve enjoyed doing and I also love a graphic tee – so I decided to combine both and try to incorporate other things that I love and enjoy into my clothing. And this is where Disney comes in.
For my first blog post for ‘Disney Month’ I thought I’d go straight in with my all-time favourite Disney movies.
This list could literally just list every single Disney movie that I’ve ever watched – but I tried hard to narrow it down…a little bit…
For my final post of Women’s History Month, I decided to ask some of my favourite female content creators some questions about who they are, what they do and all of that good stuff. I sent them all a list of questions and they decided which questions suited them the most – and I love every single response!
I had considered doing this post in 2 parts but changed my mind as I had so much content that I wanted to share! However, this post is super long – so please, go and grab yourself a cuppa and get comfy!
I’m trying to get better at reading. I really enjoy it when I’m doing it, but I just never give myself the time – but I’m working on that.
This list could have also been so much longer! But I wanted to share these 6 with you first and try and be realistic with what I will be able to read. I’m also usually drawn to interesting, bright, and colourful front covers – which you will see from the list below.
Whether your favourite content creators are on YouTube, Instagram, create Podcasts, write a blog or anything else – your support is vital for them being able to continue creating the content that you love.
This list could have been so much longer, but I think 20 is a great number for now. These women are absolutely incredible for so many reasons and I definitely recommend that you follow them all. This blog post includes bloggers, YouTubers, Podcasters, Instagrammers and extra fabulous ladies!
If you’ve been reading my blog or following my Instagram for a while, you’ll know that I love watching movies and TV.
So, for my first post of Women’s History Month I’m celebrating those on screen. These are all ones that I’ve watched and loved and that’s why I’m recommending them. I’m also including a few that I haven’t watched but have heard great things about. If you have any suggestions, please leave them in the comments below.
For the last few years, I haven’t been making new year’s resolutions as I never stick to them and end up feeling rubbish about it. Instead, I have been trying to create little goals of things that I want to improve or incorporate into my life. Last year I gave myself the goal of reading 12 books (1 a month). This may not seem like much, but I just never give myself enough time to read – even though I love reading!
I’ve listened to podcasts on and off for a few years – but it wasn’t until the end of 2019 and all throughout 2020 that I properly started listening to them.
For the majority of lockdown, I only saw about 4 people; so, I felt like listening to people talk on podcasts made me feel less lonely. That’s probably a bit sad, but it’s true*laughing They’re easy to listen to when you’re commuting, doing housework and just about anything – especially if you don’t feel like listening to music.
I absolutely love Christmas – it just makes my heart happy. One thing that I love doing at this time of year is watching cosy films. The majority of the films mentioned are actual Christmas films – but I have mentioned a couple that aren’t necessarily Christmas related, but I just enjoy watching at this time of year. I could have mentioned so many more – but I didn’t want to bore you😂
This won’t be the most informational blog post, but I just thought that it would be a bit of fun to have a chat about some Christmas films.

Hi, my name is Frances, but everyone calls me Fran. I am the face and creativity behind ‘frazzlescrunchies’ on Instagram.
If you’ve been anywhere on social media recently, you’ll likely have seen lots of posts promoting the idea of “shopping small” this Christmas. I definitely shop small when I can as I love quirky, individual and personalised pieces. Not On The High Street and Etsy are usually the first place that I search for any kind of gift – even for myself. They are filled with amazing small businesses and I want to share some of the small businesses that I have found with you lovely people.
Oh hello! I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting on both myself and my blog recently, and I’ve had some new followers, so wanted to re-introduce myself and what I’m planning for this blog.
Hello! I’m Cerys, a Welsh lass currently residing in the wonderful city of Liverpool. Join me for a cuppa and a natter. My content is the “lazy girls’ guide to self-acceptance, self-care and empowerment”.
Babies…they need a lot of stuff!!
I’d done so much research before my little one was born as to what you did need and what you didn’t and what just made life with a baby that bit easier. Some things we love, some things we don’t and some things we discovered along the way as we learnt more about his personality and what he likes/dislikes.
